Welcome!

Hi Fam!

Let me introduce myself - My name is AJ and I'm a Midwest mamma with a husband, 2 kids and 2 dogs. It's my absolute pleasure to meet you all and I'm so happy you found my small business!

Where did "It's Making Scents" come from?

We all get to a point where we feel bored with life. I've always been one who needs to stay busy doing things and constantly challenge myself so as I'm laying down one night, it just popped in my head. With one kid who has severe allergies and myself with my own skin sensitivities, why can't I make something that everyone can enjoy and know it's safe.. that they won't fear having a reaction from? In that moment, Whipped Scoops was born.

Um.. Whipped Scoops? What's that? Well, that was the original name of my company! You see, I started out as a Body Butter business with the desire to hydrate the world! And believe me, I'm working every day on doing just that, but it got so much bigger. After months and months of researching, trialing (and erroring!), the homemade, whipped ingredient recipe my customers have come to love is still what is sold today. A butter base recipe in either organic raw or refined shea with the option to add in one of our 75 scent options. And on March 1, 2022, a star product was born and went live on www.whippedscoops.com.

Within a year, I started to reevaluate what I was really offering. Did I want to offer just body butter? A skin care routine is so much more than that. Queue the addition of the sugar scrub, body spray, beard oil and hand sanitizers and last but not least, our lip gloss line. By the time it was all said and done, we had grown our offerings to over 150 scents for the body products and over 70 flavors for the lip glosses. But we won't go into how many size and option combinations there are for each. (I don't think I can count that high!)

With that, "Whipped Scoops" really didn't make much sense anymore and through some soul searching, we locked in on our oils being the base of our company, not the base product itself. But how would we rebrand? Under what name? How would the logo look? Most importantly, how would our customers take to the upgrade? While we're still figuring that out, there's one thing we do know.. the update, upgrade and celebration of a new era just made "scents".

:)
